Gardaí are investigating multiple burglaries which occurred in Lifford and Manorcunningham last week.
Four homes were broken into on Friday last, where thieves caused significant damage as they forced into the homes through the back doors and trashed rooms.
Three houses in the Common in Lifford were targeted, while another home in Manorcunningham was robbed during the same time period. The incidents have caused significant worry locally as they occurred during daylight hours between 4pm and 9pm.
The crimes have been strongly condemned by local representatives, including Sinn Féin Cllr Gary Doherty. He said: “I have committed to raising this issue with the Gardaí when we meet following my request at the last meeting of the Stranorlar Municipal District.”
A statement from Lifford Sinn Féin said: “We extend our solidarity to those who have had to endure the violation of their homes and property. These break-ins are an attack on the whole community and should not be tolerated.”
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Lifford Garda Station on +353749141000
