Joe Dunleavy is one of nine Ulster Academy players who will be in action for the Ulster ‘A’ squad this week in the Cara Cup.

Ulster take on Connacht Eagles and New England Free Jacks in the competition in Massachusetts.

Ulster will play Connacht Eagles on Wednesday (20th March) at Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth, before taking on the New England Free Jacks at the same venue on Sunday (24th March).

Dunleavy is joined by fellow Academy players Zack McCall, Jack Regan, David McCann and Marcus Rea in the forwards, and Graham Curtis, Bruce Houston, Stewart Moore and Iwan Hughes in the backs.

Dunleavy plays for Malone having come through the ranks at Letterkenny Rugby Club.

In November, Dunleavy – a blindside flanker – made his Ulster senior debut in a 25-5 win over Uruguay in Belfast.

The 2017 Ulster Provincial Player of the Year, Dunleavy played for Ireland last year at the U20 World Cup.
