Glengad get home comforts for first FAI Senior Cup clash

Glengad United have been handed a home draw for their first ever FAI Senior Cup game.

The Inishowen League champions, who are in the semi-finals of this season’s FAI Junior Cup, were paired with Home Farm FC.

Glengad, crucially, were drawn first and will welcome the Dublin outfit to The Crua.

Shane Byrne’s team will face St Michael’s next month in one of the Junior Cup semi-finals, the prize on offer a place at the Aviva Stadium final.

Letterkenny Rovers were also in yesterday’s draw and have been given a bye.

FAI SENIOR CUP, FIRST ROUND

Glebe North v Midleton
Lucan United v Aisling Annacotty
St. Michael’s v Regional United
Newtown Rangers v Avondale United
Glengad United v Home Farm
UCC v Malahide United
Maynooth University Town v Rockmount
St. Mochta’s v Collinstown

Byes: Cobh Wanderers, Crumlin United, Letterkenny United, Killester Donnycarney.
