A large number of golfers turned out on Bank Holiday Monday on the 18th for the Club Open.

The course was in excellent shape considering the amount of rainfall we had over the previous few days. The drainage system and lakes really do work.

Paul Doherty (13.7) took first place with an excellent score of 40 pts. Paul had 2 birdies i.e. on the third and on the 12th along with 8 pars.

John Doherty (12.8) was close behind with 39 pts (BOT) and the (old soldier) Greg Sullivan (17.0) was third with 39 pts.

Roy McRory (7.1) won Gross with 39 pts.

The final of the Winter Quiz was held in the Club House on Friday, March 15. There was a close run between Tom McDonagh’s team and Eamonn O’Carroll’s Team, however, McDonagh’s Team took first prize on the night.

This Quiz has been run over the winter months for a number of years now by Hugh McClafferty.

Hugh has proven himself to be an excellent Quiz Master covering a wide variety of topics.

It is very popular and enjoyable throughout the winter months.
