Two football fans from Finn Valley College got the surprise of their lives during a trip to the Aviva this week for Ireland v Georgia.

Erin Harrold and Beth McCrory had travelled to the match with their classmates, but little did they know they would be leaving with more than good memories from the Ireland win.

The second-year students were presented with two priceless mementoes, which were thoughtfully arranged by former Deputy Principal and FAI official Mr Alex Harkin and Ireland Captain Seamus Coleman.

Erin was presented with none other than Coleman’s signed jersey from the last international away to Gibraltar, while Beth was presented with a Gibraltar jersey and scarf.

It is fair to say that both girls were over the moon with their surprises which were kindly presented to them by the President of the FAI, Mr Donal Conway.

A spokesperson from Finn Valley College expressed their gratitude to all who made this magical moment happen, saying: “Huge thanks to Seamus Coleman, to Mr Conway and also to former Deputy Principal and FAI official Mr Alex Harkin for making this special treat happen and certainly making it a night to remember for Erin and Beth!”
