Michael Murphy delivered a performance for the ages last night to inspire Donegal to victory over Meath in the Division 2 final.

Murphy helped to haul Donegal back from the brink.

Declan Bonner’s men were 1-6 to 0-1 behind as Meath stunned them with an early salvo.

Murphy hit seven points and played a huge role in Jamie Brennan’s goal as Donegal won 1-17 to 1-15.

Murphy’s display had Twitter purring …

I will never allow Michael Murphy to retire.

He's had many but that had to be one of Michael Murphy's most influential Donegal performances.

Even the US Navy realise how good @officialdonegal Michael Murphy is, they’ve named a ship after him. https://t.co/y6G8ST9moj

Lads, Jamie Brennan an Michael Murphy an Oisin Gallen with Paddy McBrearty still to come in? Will Donegal be the first team to play with 4 in the full forward line??? #haymakers #AllianzLeagueFinal

It was a privlege to see Michael Murphy in action today, pulled Donegal back from being 8 points down in the first half. He will go down as one of the greats #AllianzLeagues

I'm not one to exaggerate, BUTTTTTTTTT; If Michael Murphy would have ever contested a high ball with Andre the giant,(RIP) he would have come out on top. 💪💪#unrealfielder #MEATHvDON #Donegal

There should be a bronze statue of Michael Murphy at every crossroads in Donegal. #MEATHvDON

@Roli100
Michael Murphy is some player.
Great display v Meath.
Even Corofin team or Dublin team would have him as their full forward.
