Historic occasion for Letterkenny Gaels as club field first adult hurlers

Sunday afternoon saw Letterkenny Gaels GAA club break new ground as they played their first adult hurling match in the new County Junior Hurling League.

The game was played at Páirc na nGael in glorious spring sunshine.
On the day, the experienced Ballyshannon outfit won the match but the Gaels showed great heart and determination and look forward to their next game against away to St. Enda, Omagh.

Letterkenny Gaels Hurlers: Back row – Brian Diver, Niall Diver, Cathair Doherty, Rory Boyce, Oisin Kelly, Myles Mulgrew, Peter O’Donnell, Enda Kerrane, Brendan Finney, Patrick Page, Paul Brady, Conor Boyce (C).

Front row – Stephen Doherty, Colm Gallagher, Jack Winters, Ray Winters, Stephen Gallagher, Sean O’Baoghaill, Patrick Kelly.

Referee, John Joe Doherty from Carndonagh,  who took charge of the first adult Hurling match at Páirc na nGael with the Aodh Ruadh and Letterkenny Gaels captains Ciaran Rooney and Rory Boyce.
