The language planning offices in Pobal Eascarrach received a funding boost on Wednesday with the announcement of €4,960 to refurbish the space.
The grant has been sanctioned through the Department of Arts, Culture and Heritage.
Following the announcement, Minister for Education, Joe McHugh said: “The language planners are bedding into their roles in Gaeltacht regions around the country and it is great to see Government support like this,” Minister McHugh said.
“And now that they are making a stronger presence in their communities it is vital that we support them. This funding of €4,960 will do up the offices and go a long way to providing a better space for the planner Michéal Mac Aoidh to work from and to host visitors.”
Speaking in Gaeilge, McHugh said offices like the one in Pobal Eascarrach play a huge role in the future of the language.
“Tá pleanálaithe teanga ag déanamh láithreacht níos láidre ina bpobail agus tá sé ríthábhachtach go dtacaímid leo. Beidh páirt mhór ag a gcuid oibre i nDún na nGall i bhforbairt na teanga sna blianta amach romhainn.
“Táim ag súil go mór le fáil amach conas a fhaigheann an tOifigeach Pleanála Teanga oifig bhuan nuair a bheas an athchoiriú críochnaithe.”
Pobal Eascarrach acts as the head organisation in Cloich Cheann Fhaola, Gort an Choirce, An Fál Carrach and Machaire Rabhartaigh.
“The language planners in Donegal will play a major role in developing the language in years to come,” Minister McHugh said.
“I look forward to seeing the permanent office when the renovation is done.”
