Listen: Barry Doherty aims to get Kilcar back to the top

Barry Doherty hopes Kilcar can become competitive again in 2019 following the return of Patrick McBrearty.

Kilcar, Championship and League winners in 2017, relinquished their titles last year with McBrearty and Ryan McHugh both missing the Championship campaign through injuries.

McBrearty was back in Kilcar’s colours today following his ACL rupture last summer as the Towney men defeated Glenswilly.

“The process starts now, getting games week-in, week-out, but it’s good to see him back,” Kilcar boss Doherty told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“He was a big loss last year and it’s a plus for all of us to have him back.

“We’ll try our very best to compete and win every game.  There is a younger group coming up and they’ll get their chance. They’re holding their own.”
