Eany Celtic 1 Drumkeen 0

A spirited performance from Eany Youths saw them overcome an excellent Drumkeen side at Eany Park on Wednesday

It was a game that was notable for two very contrasting styles.

Drumkeen were patient and spread the ball around sweetly while Eany were direct and physical.

Despite numerous chances for both sides it was Eany full back Michael Coughlan who got the only goal of the game in the 5th minute when he chipped the Drumkeen keeper following a scramble after Jack Byrne’s initial shot.

Cianan Roper, Ethan Mangan and Loughlan Mulroy all came close for Eany whilst Deji Basshar was unlucky not to open Drumkeen’s account after a fine strike from 30 yards.

In the 70th minute Eany were awarded a penalty after a foul on Ethan Mangan but centre half Kyle Campbell saw his penalty strike the crossbar and go wide.

With only ten minutes left on the clock Rory Craig’s run down the right saw him beat three players but he was denied an equaliser after an excellent save from Eany keeper Enda O’Hagan. The resulting corner saw Aidan Martin rise above everyone but his header sailed just wide of the post. as eany made it two wins from two aftr an openig day win at Erne Wanderers.

Bonagee 5 Erne Wanderers 2

Played on Monday night it was Bonagee who raced into a 3-0 lead through  a Jack Murphy hat-trick before Eany got one back to make it 3-1 at the break through Joshua Wilson.

Luca Rivenna then made it 3-2 on 57 minutes as the Erne men threatened a comeback but Peter Carr scored on 70 minutes.

A late Adam Carr effort completed the win for Paul Higgins men as they made it two from two.

Milford Utd 1 Fanad Utd 0

Milford win this game courtesy of a 20th minute Kyle McFadden free kick.
