Listen: Francie Friel on a precious win for Termon, tips McCormick for county return

Francie Friel says every point is precious after Termon carved out a narrow win over Buncrana last night.

Ricky Gallagher hit the winner deep into added time as Termon prevailed by the narrowest of margins.

“Division 2 is a minefield,” Friel told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“You have to win your home games.

“With the players Buncrana have, they’ll always be dangerous. It went down to the last kick of the game and thankfully we came out on the right side of it.

“We’re trying to get a squad here and everyone put the shoulder to the wheel.”

Enda McCormick kicked eight excellent points for the Burn Road men and Friel believes the forward could return to the plans of Donegal manager Declan Bonner.

Friel said: “Enda has a serious talent. I’ve worked with him for three or four years. He was up with the Donegal seniors there and I think he could get another run back there.

“Shooting like that every day and playing against Division 2 teams, showing well. If he shows that well, Declan Bonner will be looking about him.

“Enda took responsibility and in the first half he was just fantastic. Some of the scores were just outrageous.”
