Whether you are about to take the Leaving Certificate, currently unemployed, interested in part-time study, or thinking of studying on one of the many Postgraduate programmes at Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT), then you need to attend the LYIT Open Evening on Thursday 9 May from 3-7pm at the Letterkenny and Killybegs campuses.

From full-time to part-time programmes, Springboard programmes to an extensive suite of Postgraduate programmes, LYIT has a lot on offer in 2019/20.

For the Leaving Certificate student, there are 54 CAO programmes to choose from, with 60% of these offering work placement opportunities, some of which can be taken abroad.

The student experience is not to be missed at LYIT, with a variety of clubs, societies, and sporting activities to choose from.

LYIT will have a variety of Springboard courses available; Springboard offers free upskilling and reskilling courses for the unemployed and the homemaker, and 90% funded courses for those who are in employment.

The final list of Springboard courses, will be released on 14 May and commence in August and September 2019.

Unemployed persons, subject to meeting certain criteria, will retain any payments they are in receipt of from the Department of Social Protection for the duration of their programme of study.

No course fees will be charged to these eligible applicants. LYIT staff will be available on the evening to provide information on how to apply for Springboard courses.

If you are interested in studying a Postgraduate or Masters programme, then LYIT has more than 30 programmes to choose from; programmes that will enhance your skills and take you to the next level in your career.

A scholarship scheme entitled ‘Pushing Boundaries’ is also available to students who apply to complete a full-time Postgraduate Masters, and who are not in receipt of other financial support.

Billy Bennett, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Registrar at LYIT,  said: “Very often, financing a Postgraduate Masters is the biggest barrier to completing it.

“At LYIT, ‘Pushing Boundaries’ is an initiative that will hopefully mitigate that barrier and will provide talented and driven individuals with the opportunity to obtain a Masters level qualification that will further enhance their career prospects and opportunities.”

More details on the ‘Pushing Boundaries’ initiative and other Scholarship opportunities can be found on www.lyit.ie

If you are interested in learning more about full-time, Postgraduate, part-time and Springboard courses available at LYIT, then come along to the Open Evening on Thursday 9 May from 3-7 pm at the Letterkenny and Killybegs campuses.

Make this your year to kick start your third level education, upskill or further your career.
