Much-needed improvement works to a busy stretch of road in Letterkenny will begin this week.

Work on the Lismonaghan Road, between Rowan Park and Hill View, will see the vision lines improved along with the construction of a new footpath.

Welcoming the announcement, local Donegal County Councillor, Ciaran Brogan said the widening of the road and the provision of a new footpath will have huge benefits for the residents and road users in the Lismonaghan area.

“€37,000 has been approved to complete the project at Lismonaghan, with €10,000 also secured for the provision of lights next year.

“A lot of work was done behind the scenes to acquire the necessary land to allow these improvements to be carried out. I commend all involved for their efforts.

“The stretch of road in question is extremely busy and these works are a positive development for the area.”
