Gaoth Dobhair cyclist Clodagh is National Junior Champion

Gaoth Dobhair cyclist Clodagh Ní Ghallchoir came away with gold and silver in the Irish Track National Junior (U18) Championships held in Dublin yesterday.

Clodagh (17), who is a member of the AAA Cycling Club, won silver in the sprints in the morning racing session.

In the afternoon Clodagh came to the fore to claim gold and the National jersey in the 500-metre TT.

She also beat  her personal best and set a new National record in a time of 39.7 seconds.

Clodagh has come close winning a number of silver medals in the last number of years at this event.

Clodagh is a 5th year pupil at Pobal Scoil Ghaoth Dobhair and is coached by Peter McBride.

Shehas had a great start to this season to date winning a number of Women’s road races and next up is the Emyvale GP next Sunday.
