Travel agents from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland have been visiting Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way.

The travel agents all won the opportunity to travel here during a recent Tourism Ireland sales mission to Australia and New Zealand.

The group travelled to some well-known places around Donegal including Glenveagh National Park, Glencolmcille Folk Village and Sliabh Liag.

The travel agents enjoyed lunch at Leo’s Tavern, which was followed by an Irish coffee-making demo. They also enjoyed a live traditional music session at The Reel Inn and an overnight stay at the Central Hotel in Donegal town.

Tourism Ireland is the organisation responsible for promoting the island of Ireland overseas as a leading holiday destination. In 2018, they welcomed 228,500 arrivals from Australia and New Zealand to Ireland.

Sofia Hasson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Australia commented, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Donegal and Ireland to these travel agents from Australia and New Zealand. There is really no substitute for being able to come here and experience what Ireland has to offer at first-hand.”
