There were dramatic scenes in Carndonagh this afternoon after a fire broke out in a barn.

Large plumes of smoke were seen from across the town as the fire tore through the shed, which is located behind buildings near at Pound Street. Local reports say that the fire broke out at approximately 1pm.

Fire services from Carndonagh attended the scene and quickly brought the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported from the fire. However, the barn was extensively damaged.
