The Donegal Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps were launched at the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey on Monday night.

Donegal captain Michael Murphy is a national ambassador, along with camogie player Sarah Dervan from Galway, Dublin Ladies’ captain Sinead Ahern and Limerick hurler, Declan Hannon.

The Donegal ambassadors are county players Hugh McFadden from Killybegs and Bundoran’s Jamie Brennan, both of whom featured for Declan Bonner’s side in the Ulster SFC quarter-final win over Fermanagh in Brewster Park on Sunday.

Donegal now have an Ulster semi-final to look forward to against Tyrone on Saturday week, June 8 at Cavan’s Breffni Park, with a 5pm start.

The Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games.

Both McFadden and Brennan will visit all of the venues over the coming weeks.

“It’s a great way for children to get involved in GAA in a fun environment, Brennan said.

McFadden added: “We will be on the road at the various clubs throughout the next few weeks and there’s plenty to look forward to.”

Activities are player-centred with a Games Based approach with a strong emphasis being placed on personal development and well-being.

Activities are also organised in an age-appropriate manner with a view to: optimise learning, enhance friendships, improve physical and psychological well-being and to promote school and club links.
