Listen: ‘You could sense it all week’ – Declan Bonner

DONEGAL MANAGER Declan Bonner could sense a big performance was coming from his men – and they duly delivered.

A mighty first half set the tone as Donegal defeated Tyrone in the Ulster semi-final, booking a berth in the June 23rd final.

“You have to hand it to them, they worked really hard,” Bonner told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub after the 1-16 to 0-15 win.

“We were really focussed on this game. It’s been on the radar for a number of weeks now. We were really good, especially in the first half.

“We went about our business in a really professional manner and you could sense it all week that these boys were ready for it.”

However, Bonner warned that the feet have to very quickly come back to the ground.

He said: “We didn’t kill Tyrone off when we had the opportunity. There is nothing won yet and we have to get ready now for an Ulster final. We have two massive weeks ahead of us.”
