A dark cloud has descended on Donegal following the tragic death of Manus Kelly, aged 41.

Tributes continue to pour in for the rally driver, Fianna Fáil councillor and businessman who died in a fatal accident at the Donegal International Rally on Sunday. A Glenswilly native, Mr Kelly is survived by his wife Bernie and five children.

The community of Glenswilly has paid this touching tribute to the local legend:

“A Son, a brother, an uncle, a husband, a father, a player, a manager, a sponsor, a gentleman, a friend, a cousin, a business man, a counsellor and the greatest sportsman and rally man ever to grace our parish community and the county of Donegal.

“It’s with deepest regret and sadness that we have lost one our clubs greatest Manus Mandy Kelly.

“We express our condolences to his beautiful wife Bernie, his 5 doting children Annie, Mandy, Charlie, Conan and wee Bella, his mammy and daddy Donal and Jacqueline and family Breigeen, Kelda, Ciara, Donal, Caolan, Leon, Teigharan and Shannagh, his best friend and co pilot Donal Barrett and his extended circle of family friends and colleagues.

“There are no more words
RIP Manus
We will miss you”
