An urgent recall warning has been issued for a children’s toy due to safety fears over chemical levels.
The ‘Magic Poo’ and ‘Unicorn Magic Poo’ products, made by Tobar Group Trading Limited, were found to contain the chemical boron in excess of permissible levels.
Exposure to the potentially toxic chemical can cause health issues, so customers have been advised to “stop using the product immediately” and keep it out of the reach of children.
Approximately 528 units of the ‘Magic Poo’ and ‘Unicorn Magic Poo’ have been sold in Ireland, with one stockist in Donegal.
The Irish Consumer Protection Commission has listed Foys (Toymaster) in Ballybofey as the Donegal retailer.
The model numbers affected by the recall are: 18977 (Magic Poo) and 27433 (Unicorn Magic Poo).
“If your product is detailed above, you should stop using the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children. Return the product and packaging to the place of purchase,” the CCPC said.
“The retailer will be aware of the withdrawal from sale and a refund will be offered.”
