Up to 3,400 visitors are expected in Killybegs this Sunday with the arrival of two large cruise ships.

The MS Oriana and the MV Seabourn Quest will both arrive on Sunday morning for a day for passengers to explore Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way.

The Killybegs community will put on a welcome party for tourists with ceol agus craic for all at the Shore Road Car Park from 11am to 5pm. World Champion Irish Dancers and St Catherine’s Band will also be putting on a show in the Bay View Hotel from 11.30am.

First to arrive is the MV Seabourn Quest at 8am until 5pm. This 198m-long ‘Ultra Luxury’ cruise ship hosts 450 passengers and 335 crew members.

The eight year old mega yacht is on a 15 day round-trip of the Gems Of The Irish Sea & Hebrides.

The MS Oriana will arrive at 9am until 5.30pm, bringing up to 1,800 passengers and 760 crew.

She is the smallest of the P&O Cruises fleet, but at 260m, she is another mighty visitor for Killybegs pier.

Killybegs is the first stop on the Oriana’s 14-day voyage from Southampton to Iceland and the British Isles. This is the ship’s final visit before it leaves the P&O fleet in August.
