There was a great turnout last weekend for the Memorial Open Stableford for the Doherty Brothers Liam, Patsy and Brendan.

The Doherty brothers were past members of the club and always had the wee links in their hearts and were well respected amongst the local golfing fraternity.

The best score of the weekend was returned by the most in-form golfer in the club at present Garry Doherty (R) who shot a very impressive 43 pts.

Garry played some great golf over the front 9 to shot 22 pts and added another 21 pts over the back 9 to amass his winning total of 43 pts.

The full results of the Liam, Patsy & Brendan Doherty Memorial Open Stableford are as follows; 1st Garry Doherty (12) 43 pts, 2nd James Harkin (9) 42 pts b.o.t., Gross Matthew Stainsby (6) 66 gross, 3rd Owen Doherty (17) 42 pts, Best Day Shane Devlin (11) 41 pts b.o.t. and Back 9 Pauric O’Flaherty (3) 22 pts.

The juvenile members will play on Thursday 11th July for the president’s Prizes.

Juvenile Lessons for boys & girls have commenced on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the cost is €5.00.

Meal Deal Competition

The winner of last weeks Meal Deal with 39 pts was Jonny Morrison (9) and in second place was Fíachra O ‘ Flaherty (5) 38 pts. The Meal Deal Competition will run every Thursday and the cost to enter this competition is €18.00 for members and €25.00 for visitors.

The competition entry includes an 18 hole open Stableford and a fantastic 2-course meal in the award-winning Drift Inn Bar & Restaurant after your game.

Don’t despair if you can’t use your meal deal voucher on the day of the competitions it can be used on Fridays as well.

This is the best meal deal about and with the greens the best in the county it’s an excellent opportunity to experience the course and savour some fantastic food afterwards.
