Illies’ Carleigh Irvine bags impressive win on international debut

ILLIES GOLDEN Gloves boxer Carleigh Irvine scored a win last night in her first ever international bout.

Irvine defeated Italy’s Lambo Mariagrazia in a schoolgirl international at St Brigid’s BC in Edenderry.

Irvine was victorious in the 46kgs contest,.

At the weekend, Irvine won the 46kgs Irish Cadet title when she overcame Angelina Duffy from Glin on a 4-1 split decision.

Irvine will now go to the European Championships in Tblisi, Georgia, next month as part of the Irish squad.
