Finn Valley Family Resource Centre in partnership with the South Central Child and Family Support Network are hosting an Intercultural Family fun day on Friday 19th July.
The event will take place at the new Family Resource Centre based behind St Columbas College in Stranorlar, from 1pm-3.30pm, and they would welcome all families from the area to come along for what will be a fun filled afternoon.
There will be a range of activities for children on the day, with a play trailor and Mary’s Ark Petting Zoo on site and a range of other sporting and arts based activities.
A number of the Syrian families who have moved to the Ballybofey and Stranorlar area recently have also kindly agreed to prepare a feast of Syrian food on the day so it will also be a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and try new things.
The event is being planned in partnership with the South Central Child & Family Support Network and a range of other local agencies, including local community Gardai, Donegal Youth Service, Foroige, Springboard Family Support, Donegal Sports Partnership, Donegal Parenthub, Donegal County Childcare Committee and Donegal Local Development Company will be helping to facilitate the activities, as well as providing information on their services available to children and families in the area.
The South Central Child and Family Support Network, which is co-ordinated by Tusla, is a local network of professionals all working with children and families, who come together for regular meetings with the aim to share information on their work and work in partnership to ensure there is no wrong door for families when accessing relevant and timely support across this area.
