Buncrana Golf Club: McCracken Takes First Major

There was a fantastic turnout last weekend for Mr. Pius Mc Fadden’s Presidents Prizes a testament to the high esteem Pius is held in by the members and local golfing fraternity.

The best score of the weekend was returned by Brian Mc Cracken who played some of his best golf for a while. Brian shot a very impressive 25 pts over the front 9 and added another 22 pts over the back 9 to amass his fantastic winning score of 47 pts.

This is Brian’s first Major Club competition and if he continues this form his handicap will not be long tumbling down. The full results Mr. Pius Mc Fadden President Prize;

Competition

The competition this weekend Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July will an Open Teams of 4 Scramble sponsored by Highland Radio. This competition is any combination with 1/7 of the combined handicap and 3 tee shots to count from each player.

Find the Joker Fundraising

The “Find the Joker” is up and running again with a Jackpot of €700.00, lines only cost €2 each and this draw is open to members and non-members alike. Lines can be purchased in the clubhouse or through chief seller Oliver Doherty.

Juvenile Lessons

Juvenile Lessons for boys & girls have commenced on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the cost is €5.00.

Meal Deal Competition

The Meal Deal Competition will run every Thursday and the cost to enter this competition is €18.00 for members and €25.00 for visitors. The competition entry includes an 18 hole open stableford and a fantastic 2 course meal in the award winning Drift Inn Bar & Restaurant after your game. Don’t despair if you can’t use your meal deal voucher on the day of the competitions it can be used on Fridays as well. This is the best meal deal about and with the greens the best in the county it’s an excellent opportunity to experience the course and savour some fantastic food afterwards.
