Mountcharles Opera Festival returns to stunning Salthill House this weekend

In 2008 The Garden Rooms at Salthill House opened their doors to Songs for a Summer Evening and this has now grown to become known as The Mountcharles Opera Festival.

Having been described as one of the high-lights of the summer season in South Donegal, with audiences coming from far and wide, this is certainly something a little bit different in the social calendar.

A stroll in the evening sun shine around the stunning gardens of Salthill House, glass of wine in hand, followed by some of the most wonderful music – what more could you ask – and all for €15!

Deborah Cunningham, Paul Martin and Evan McGarrigle put together a new programme every season and along with The Bluestack Chorale, bring a diverse range of music to their ever-growing and most appreciative audience.

There’s always something for everyone to enjoy no matter what your musical tastes, and you’re sure to come away humming something that you recognise.

The Bluestack Chorale are the focus for part one of each evening when they bring a selection of classical and jazz favourites.

There’s always plenty of drama when Deborah, Paul and Evan take the stage in the second half and this year will be no exception as they bring music with an Angels and Demons theme.  They are joined by Adrian Pollard who makes his Salthill debut, for the final piece of the evening.

Why not venture along this Friday 19th July or Saturday 20th July.

Gates open 7pm, with performance at 8pm sharp.
