Day one:

A super turnout on day one of Open Week with 15 teams playing. The golf course was very busy with a lot of Visitors in the area for green fees also. It was great to be busy and a great buzz in the Golf Club yesterday. Thank you to Gweedore Bar Falcarragh for their kind sponsorship.
The winning team consisted of 3 local Members, Owenie Pro, Brian Bomber and Kevin Boyle. They played very well and had 6 birdies and 12 pars. In 2nd was local Member Thomas McClafferty with Liam McKinley and Jerry McClafferty from Gaoth Dobhair on -5 under par. In 3rd was Dermot McCallion, Francis Boyle and Ryan McCallion.
Sadie-Marie Curran did the double winning both Nearest the Pins! Paul Doherty won longest Drive.
We had great feedback from visiting Portsalon Members commenting after their game ‘Cloughaneely GC greens are the best in the County at the moment’.
This is a superb testament to a small 9 Hole Golf Club in County Donegal trying to compete with the bigger 18 Hole Golf Courses. Compliments to Philip and his team for their hard work.
