Cora Rooney, Ballyshannon, comes with an illustrious competitive swimming history at her young age of 14 including regional/national medals and a recent share in an Ulster Junior Relay record.

Training early mornings and most recently Cora has had to travel to both Enniskillen and Finn Valley Leisure Centre for pool time with her coach.

There is a huge commitment for this already successful teenager in preparations for Ireland’s identified Summer Nationals 2019.

Yesterday, the Ballyshannon teenager returned with two National titles in her strongest events 100m & 200m backstroke and a bronze medal in 200m individual medley.

On her way, Cora set consideration time for the national squad and also for regional squad.

Cora has a bright future ahead with an already good balance and family support of education and swimming.

The enthusiastic swimmer leaves her hometown each morning to train with Enniskillen Lakelanders Swim Club.
