The Bank Holiday weekend is getting off to a hot and sunny start, but more unsettled conditions are forecast for the next few days in Donegal.
This Friday morning will see the best of the sunshine with a dry day in store. Top temperatures in the north west could reach 23C.
There is a risk of a few scattered showers later in the day, according to Met Eireann forecasters.
The outlook for the weekend is a mix of warm weather, sunshine and scattered showers – some turning heavy and thundery at times.
Saturday 3rd August will start dry but some showers are on the way during the day. Temperatures will remain warm, ranging from 19-21C and there is a risk of thunder in the evening.
Sunday 4th August is set to be a similar day, with sunny spells, scattered showers and a slight risk of thunder with rain in the north west later in the day. Maximum afternoon temperatures will be 19-23C.
The Met Eireann forecast for the weekend and next week is mixed:”Unsettled weather continuing up to and including Wednesday next, with a risk of heavy, thundery downpours at times. Temperatures around normal, or a little above. Early indications suggest that conditions will improve for Thursday and Friday. “
