What do you love about Donegal? The beaches? The craic? The sports? The quality of life? Football Special?
Whatever it is, make sure to tell the world on the 14th of August.
#LoveDonegal day has been scheduled to get Donegal trending on Twitter as part of Donegal Connect – the project which aims to show why Donegal is a wonderful county to visit, to invest in, to live in and be educated in.
The #LoveDonegal campaign aims to get as many people as possible around the world Tweeting about our amazing county.
Taking part is easy and all you have to do is tweet or post using hashtag #LoveDonegal or #DúnnanGallAbú. You can also post to Instagram using these hashtags.
- You can tweet or post about your community, your business, your family, your work, where you live, your sports team or club – basically anything – using the hashtag #LoveDonegal or #DúnnanGallAbú.
- The campaign also calls on people to post about what you love about Donegal, favourite places, people & things to do here.
- And remember, add a photo or video to your tweet or post too.
Ideas for tweets/posts include:
- visiting or travelling around Donegal,
- the people of Donegal,
- the landscape, coastline or islands of Donegal….
- music, arts, sport, marine, business, culture & food,
- the Gaeltacht and the Irish language
The Donegal Connect project wants to extend the county’s links with those who have Donegal roots or connections around the world (our Diaspora), and to promote the county to the widest possible global audience.
If everyone acts together on 14th August and uses the #LoveDonegal or #DúnnanGallAbú hashtags, then Donegal could be a trending topic, highlighting the best of the county to the world.
You can take part by:
- Tweeting or posting from your personal account using #LoveDonegal or #DúnnanGallAbú
- Tweeting or posting from your work, club or group accounts
- Liking and sharing/retweeting other #LoveDonegal #DúnnanGallAbú posts
