Irish holidaymakers could face major disruption as Ryanair pilots plan to ballot on industrial action this week.
The vote comes after Ryanair pilots in the UK announced they will strike over two days in August and three days in September.
Irish-based Ryanair pilots with IALPA, the Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association, will vote tomorrow (Friday) on whether they will also launch strike action.
UK pilots who are members of the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) will begin their two-day strike action on August 22nd. They are planning a second strike for 72 hours on September 2nd.
The dispute centres around demands for a consistent pay structure and a range of conditions, including maternity, pensions and insurance.
