The community of Glencolmcille is in mourning over the sad passing of marine-based artist Ken King.

Mr King died peacefully yesterday (Sat) in the wonderful care of the staff of Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny.

He began painting full-time in 1976, specialising in the naval and merchant shipping of Ireland, together with the country’s coastline and lighthouses.

Removal of remains from Sandfield at 7pm to St. Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille.

Funeral mass at 12pm on Monday, 19th August in St Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille, followed by a burial at St. Columba’s Church of Ireland cemetery, Straid, Glencolmcille.
