TYLER TOLAND made her first Manchester City appearance last night.

The 18-year-old St Johnston woman – who recently signed a two-year contract at City – came on for the last 23 minutes of a dramatic International Champions Cup win over Atlético Madrid.

After a 2-1 defeat on Friday night against North Carolina Courage – when Toland was an unused substitute – City played in the third-placed play-off last night at Sahlen’s Stadium.

Lauren Hemp put City into the lead, but Virginia Torrecilla and Angela Sosa turned the tables for Atlético.

Janine Beckie levelled the game in the 83rd minute and City won it with the final kick as Tessa Wullaert struck.

Toland replaced Caroline Weir in the 63rd minute and the 12-times Republic of Ireland capped midfielder will hope to be involved when City begin their 2019/20 Super League campaign against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on September 7.

Before that, Toland is expected to be involved when the Republic of Ireland women’s team face Montenegro n a European Championship qualifier on September 3.
