Donegal had many proud moments in the popular Rose of Tralee competition this year.
Chloe Kennedy was an inspiration to many as the beautiful Donegal Rose, while Ardara’s Theresa Stanley, the mother of Boston Rose Tanya Stanley, gained great recognition for her fundraising work.
Many cries of ‘Up Donegal’ filled the Dome during Tuesday’s live selection night.
But one photo emerged on the televised final that had a bit more Donegal ‘craic’ than anyone expected.
Viewers were encouraged to send in their photos as they watched programme and cheered on their Roses on social media. Some photos were selected and shown on the screen.
A lot was shown from the home of these Donegal lads, Conor, Ciaran and David:
They simply said that they were watching the show with an Irish dancing trophy, which was won by their friend Gerard. However, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a ‘badass’ making a surprise appearance in the reflection behind.
Presenter Will Leahy, who was looking after the social media features, saw the fun of the unexpected mooner and tweeted:
Well done to these lads
