Met Eireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Donegal and nine other counties as heavy rain is set to hit the west coast on Friday.
The weather alert comes as downpours could lead to a risk of localised flooding throughout Friday and Friday night.
The warning takes effect from 6am on Friday to 6am on Saturday.
“Rainfall totals of 30-50mm are expected during the period and will be higher in mountainous areas,” forecasters warned.
Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick are all included in the warning.
“The rain will be heavy and persistent in west Munster, Connacht and much of Ulster with the risk of localised flooding,” said the national forecast.
“Friday night will be very wet with persistent and heavy rain for a time. ”
