Glenfin emphatic as they see off Dungloe

Glenfin defeated the home side in the last game of this years All County League on Saturday evening.

After an evenly contested first half, the visitors pulled did enough to secure victory with two top drawer saves from keeper McBride to deny the home side their two penalty shots.

Dungloe 0-7 Glenfin 2-9

Dungloe opened the scoring of the first half with points from frees from Noel McBride and Adam Neely but by the 10 min mark Glenfin had levelled matters with points from Gerard Ward (2F).

Another Ward free on 15 mins put the visitors in front but 2 points from Dylan Sweeney and Noel McBride free edged the home side in front after 23 mins.

As the game approached half time Ross Marley pointed to leave the half time score Dungloe 0-4 Glenfin 0-4.

It was all to play for in the second half. Glenfin introduced substitute Karl McGlynn for Kaine McGlynn and within 3mins of the restart, McGlynn had the ball in the back of the Dungloe net to put the visitors 1-4 to 0-4 in front.

Gerard Ward added another point on six minutes and Dungloe were awarded their first penalty of the game on 11 mins but keeper McBride pulled off a fine save from the boot of Adam Neely.

Kieran Brady and Jason Morrow stretched the visitors lead further as the game entered the final quarter while the home side had to watch their shots drop short of target.

An Adam Neely point on 16 minutes was the home side’s first score of the second half, Gary Dorrian pointed for Glenfin and a Neely Free reduced the margin on 20 mins before Karl McGlynn popped up again to fire past Rodgers in the

Dungloe goals 2-8 to 0-6. David McCarron and Jason Morrow traded points before Dungloe were awarded their second penalty but again the luck failed the home side and McBride saved from the boot of Adam Neely to leave the final score Dungloe 0-7 Glenfin 2-9.
