A local man has launched an information appeal to find the person who allegedly sold him a stolen SUV.
Ger O Riain from Letterkenny said he was tricked into buying a Honda CR-V from a man who sold it second-hand with convincing paperwork.
However, it later emerged that the SUV was stolen.
Mr O Riain’s attempts to contact the seller by phone have failed, so he took his appeal to Facebook.
In a public message, O Riain said that the man is a Polish national who could be living in Strokestown, Co Roscommon or possibly Cork or Dublin.
He gathered a number of details about the man from their meeting.
“His name, as far as I know, is Thomasz Krzysztof Stefawski (or Stefanski). He also uses the name Kris in his adverts,” O Riain said.
“Thomasz / Kris has completely disappeared off my radar. I’m most anxious to get contact details for him to pass on to the relevant authorities.”
O Riain described the man has having a number of tattoos and having a body builder type build. The man was accompanied by his wife when he delivered the SUV.
