Mark Russell suspended as Finn Harps face Pat’s

MARK RUSSELL is suspended for tomorrow night when Finn Harps welcome St Patrick’s Athletic to Finn Park.

The game was postponed last Friday due to a waterlogged pitch in Ballybofey, but has been swiftly rescheduled.

Russell must serve a suspension against the Saints, while manager Ollie Horgan is also planning without long-term injury absentees Ciaran Gallagher and Michael Gallagher.

Horgan has rated Mark Timlin and Nathan Boyle as doubts for the game.

“We have had a poor record against Pat’s this season,” Horgan said.

“We lost twice and just managed a draw against up at Richmond Park at the start of the season.

“Stephen O’Donnell is in charge and I have no doubt that they will really be up for this game.

“Our lads are up for the challenge as well and are going to give it everything.

“It is the underdogs tag for us again, but it would be great for everyone connected to the club if could squeeze three points in our favour on a very special night for Harps.”

Harps had a big night planned for last week with several ex-players and managers to be guests of the club as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.

Those players and managers – including members of the first Harps team to play League of Ireland football in 1969 – have been invited again tomorrow night.

Pat’s will be under the direction of O’Donnell, who has succeeded Harry Kenny in the Inchicore hotseat.
