There was plenty of soccer action across the action this weekend as Gorey Curran Cup and Colin Breslin Youth Cup took place.
Gorey Curran Cup quarter-final

Lagan Harps booked their spot in the Gorey Curran Cup semi-final with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Keadue Rovers in ideal conditions at Orchard Park on Thursday evening.
The winning goal came as early as the 6th minute when the highly impressive Liam Lynch teed up James Wilson and he finished low past Ben Boyle.
Gavin Murray’s men advanced to a home tie with Gweedore Utd in the last 4.
Colin Breslin Youth Cup quarter-final
Gweedore Utd 1 Eany Celtic 2
Colin Breslin Youth Cup quarter-final played on Saturday saw Eany Celtic record a 2-1 win at Gweedore Utd to set up a home semi-final clash with Bonagee Utd.
Eany won for the second time this season at Carrickboyle having won earlier in the league and took the lead when Nathan Maxwell’s effort saw them take an early lead.
Steven McFadden then levelled for Gweedore and extra time loomed large until Jason Dobbyn composedly finished following a free kick for a highly celebrated win for John Daly’s side.
Gweedore Utd will wonder it may have been an opportunity lost and will now turn their attentions to the semi-final of the Gorey Curran Cup were they face Lagan Harps while they begin their shield campaign at Eany next weekend.
Colin Breslin Youth Cup semi-final
Lagan Harps 2 Swilly Rovers 3
Swilly Rovers booked their spot in the Colin Breslin Cup final having come from behind to defeat Lagan Harps 3-2 in a feisty encounter at Orchard Park on Saturday evening.
Lagan-buoyed by a cup win on Thursday–stormed into a two-goal lead after 27 minutes with goals from Matthew McDaid and Liam Lynch but crucially Swilly got one back almost immediately through Tyler Durning.
Durning then restored parity on 43 minutes as the teams went in at the break with all to play for.
Chances came and went for both sides in the 2nd half but it was Swilly who completed the turnaround when Evan Hewitt fired home the winner on 76 minutes with the Lagan bench disputing the decision to award a free-kick to the Lennonsiders in the lead up to the goal.
Lagan’s misery was compounded late on with the dismissals of Bradley Doherty and Dean Murray in stoppage time for dissent.
Swilly will face either Eany Celtic or Bonagee in the final.
Donegal Youth League
Milford Utd 0 Eany Celtic 1
Harry Howarth’s goal won this game for Eany at Whitestrand ina tightly balanced game at Whitestrand on Monday evening.
Milford 1 Bonagee 7
In a game reversed to Dry Arch Park, it was Bonagee who started the game the brighter and took the 11th minute lead when Darragh Kirk headed home when a set-piece wasn’t properly cleared.
Bonagee moved to within two points of joint leaders Letterkenny Rovers and Keadue Rovers.
Milford netminder John Matthews impressed making a number of notable stops but crucially Bonagee grabbed a second on the stroke of halftime when the lively Peter Carr doubled the advantage with Milford coming closest through the lively Dylan Dorrian and Aaron Curran.
Bonagee extended their lead midway through the 2nd half through Carr before Jack Murphy and David Boakye made it 5-0.
Milford got one back through Dorrian but some added gloss to the scoreline was added through Jason Martin and Caolan Maltha efforts late on..
