Listen: Paddy McGrath optimistic on cruciate recovery

PADDY MCGRATH underwent surgery on his injured cruciate knee ligament last Tuesday and is determined to get back to action.

McGrath injured a cruciate during Donegal’s Super 8 loss to Mayo in Castlebar last month.

The Ardara man went under the knife during the week and is ready for the long road to recover.

“Everything went well,” McGrath told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub at the weekend.

“I had the operation last Tuesday. The surgeon said it went well and I came back down the road on Wednesday and I’ll move on with the rehab. It’s a long process.

“The ACL is so common now. A lot of players have gone through this process and they know exactly what targets you should be reaching at certain times.

“It’s on the individual to get back. You have to be driven and do everything they give you to do. You just have to keep pushing it.”

McGrath was speaking after Ardara’s Donegal SFC defeat to St Michael’s at Pearse Park.
