Donegal County Council were left baffled this week when a surfboard-like object was removed from water to a Donegal beach.
It was big too, appearing to measure roughly six foot in length.
The unusual discovery was made by volunteers of the Irish Coast Guard on Wednesday (September 11) from the beach in Ballyheirnan, Fanad.
The object, which has since been identified as a wave glider, is described as having a full-length solar panel on its upper side and what appears to be a recording unit housed in a plastic casing.
The council are keen to return the item to its owner as they might be keen to retrieve any information stored in the unit.
