NAOMH MUIRE shocked Downings with a late goal for a victory yesterday evening.

Downings 0-5 Naomh Muire 1-5

After a last-gasp leveller against Aodh Ruadh last weekend, Naomh Muire were at it again when Daniel Devlin’s shot evaded the clutches of Brendan McGee, the Downings goalkeeper.

Lorcan Connor’s brace helped Downings to lead 0-3 to 0-1 at half-time.

Sean ‘Yank’ Boyle and Jack O’Donnell were among the scorers as Naomh Muire hit back in the second half and they won it when Devlin netted.

Try as they might, it wasn’t to be for Downings.
