Residents in east Donegal have been asked to remain vigilant this morning (Thurs) for thieves impersonating An Post employees and targeting the elderly.

It is understood that the thieves are impersonating workers from An Post and asking the elderly if they could check their euro notes.

Reporting of the incidents have already occurred in the Raphoe and Carrigans areas.

Anybody who may have spotted these men acting suspicously are being asked to contact the Gardai in Letterkenny on 0749167100.
