The warm weather will remain in Donegal over the weekend – but that looks set to end early next week with Hurricane Humberto set to bring gale-force winds to the north-west.
Today will see pleasant highs of around 21C with long sunny spells across much of the country.
But the late autumn bloom will not stick around for long, with strong winds and rain expected on Monday afternoon.
Temperatures will drop, with heavy rain and high winds sticking around for the majority of next week.
Met Eireann is predicting a period of ‘unsettled cool and windy weather’ for the second-half of next week.
A forecaster said: “A warm and sunny weekend is in store as temperatures continue to rise – but it’s not all good news with more unsettled weather on the horizon.
“Today will be quite warm with long sunny spells and highs of 17 to 21 degrees.
Tonight will remain dry in most areas with good clear spells, with lowest temperatures 10 to 13 degrees.
“Saturday will start off dry in most areas with sunny spells over the north and east. There will be showery rain in the southwest will spread gradually eastwards during the afternoon and evening.
