GAEIL FHÁNADA hit a late surge of scores to defeat off-form Burt at Hibernian Park last night.

Burt 1-8 Gaeil Fhánada 2-11

A first-half goal by Shaun Kerr helped Gaeil Fhánada to lead 1-5 to 1-4 at half-time.

Burt burst from the blocks with Ciaran Bradley’s early goal having them 1-2 to 0-1 ahead at one stage.

The Fanad men settled, though, and with Bernard McGettigan, Kerr, Eoghan Carr and Brian McVeigh on the mark  it was the visitors who led by a point at the interval.

Burt hit the first four points of the second half to move into control, but Oisin Shiels’ brace kick-started a Fanad revival and Conor McGonigle’s goal helped secure a six-point win.

Scorers – Burt: Ciaran Bradley 1-1,  Calvin Gallagher, Mark McElhinney 0-2 each, Michael Doherty, Oisin Kelly, Denver Kelly 0-1 each

Gaeil Fhánada: Shaun Kerr 1-3, Oisin Shiels 0-3, Conor McGonigle 1-0, Eoghan Carr, Brian McVeigh 0-2 each, Bernard McGettigan 0-1
