Both Finn Harps U17 and U19 were in action this weekend with both sides picking up impressive victories over rivals Derry City.

Crucial win for Harps Us19s

The Finn Harps U19s bagged a big three points against Derry City at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium this afternoon courtesy of goals from Steven Doherty and Jamie Browne.

It means that Joe Boyle’s team stay second in the Elite Northern Section table and two points ahead of both Dundalk and Drogheda.

Boyle says the aim is to try and hold on to the second spot which would guarantee Harps a home quarter-final tie. A home win over Dundalk next weekend will guarantee that objective.

Harps U17 emphatic

An excellent 3-0 win for Finn Harps U17s today over Derry City in Ballybofey. Conor Black’s cracking free-kick 12th-minute free-kick gave Declan Boyle’s side a 1-0 half-time led.

Republic of Ireland international Daniel Gildea and Jamie McDaid grabbed the second-half goals.
