OCTOBER beckons and Nicole McLaughlin is delighted to be entering the winter months with Termon’s season still rolling.
“It was tough there and scoreline doesn’t reflect the game,” McLaughlin told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub after the win.
“It’s brilliant to win and even better to win at our own ground. We haven’t had the pleasure of this since 2010. To win here in Ulster is just fantastic. Every game is a bonus.”
Geraldine McLaughlin’s 2-7 proved, again, vital, but Termon had to dig deep at times with the Armagh side asking questions after Eimear Alcorn’s 20th minute sending off.
Nicole McLaughlin said: “We knew they would push on when we went down to 14. We had to be ready for them. Credit to the defending, it was brilliant. We’re a tight unit and we know that we have to do it together. You have to be ready for those situations.
“Niamh Friel was unreal and Aibhe McDaid is just 15 playing in Ulster. I was 15 playing in Ulster and she probably doesn’t realise the occasion.”
