Naomh Brid held out against Red Hugh’s as they snatched a one-point victory at Father Tierney Park.

Naomh Brid 2-10 Red Hugh’s 1-12

Naomh Brid gathered a 2-10 to 0-8 lead by the 45th minute as Callum Gallagher finished off a neatly worked goal.

However, in the final 10 minutes, Red Hugh’s pushed hard as Brid failed to score in the final 15 minutes.

Substitute Damian McMenamin turned the screw on Naomh Brid as he hit home a superb goal before tephen McGlinchey, Calvin Bradley and Stephen McMenamin all added to the scoresheet to put the pressure firmly on the Ballyshannon side.

By the closing stages, Naomh Brid were hanging on for dear life as goalkeeper Pauric McDaid came under pressure from Hugh’s attacking frontline as they missed several goal-bound efforts.

But it proved one-point too much for Red Hugh’s in the end as they failed to complete an epic comeback.
