St Nauls produced a stunning second-half performance to edge this exciting contest to advance to the IFC semi-final.

Naomh Naille 1-18 Naomh Columba 3-10

Christopher Byrne scored a point after nine seconds before Brendan McCole replied to make it three points apiece after 10 minutes.

Ronan Gillespie and Padraig Byrne got on the board for Naomh Columba to take the lead before Daniel Brennan and Peadar Mogan replied for St Nauls before the midway point of the half.

However, Naomh Columba took control when Ronan Gillespie passed the ball to Aaron Doherty and his effort shot low to the net and he quickly followed with a second goal as the Glen men turn the screw.

Pauric Ward’s effort hit the net as Naomh Columba opened up a nine-point lead before Peadar Mogan free left eight in it at half time just before the break.

Shortly after the interval, referee Jimmy White picked an injury and had to be replaced by Val Murray.

But St Nauls came right out of the blocks in the second half with Daniel Brennan and Stephen Griffin shooting quick points.

Griffin point came for a penalty who hit high over the bar, Daniel Brennan got the next three scores followed by a Stewart Johnson goal from close range as the lead evaporated to two.

Aaron Doherty got a point for Naomh Columba but St Nauls kept coming and levelled it with eight-minutes remaining before they took the lead from Peadar Morgan, Daniel Brennan, and substitute Diarmuid Gallagher.

But with full time approaching an Aaron Doherty point looked to have forced extra-time, but Daniel Brennan and Stephen Griffin had other ideas as they scored two points in a row to finish off an astonishing game.
