At least one Donegal school has already cancelled classes ahead of the arrival of Storm Lorenzo to Donegal tomorrow.
Moville Community College will finish at 1pm – two hours ahead of its usual 3.10pm finishing time.
The school today sent a text to all parents telling them of the arrangements to cope with the latest weather situation.
Bus times have been changed for hundreds of pupils to collect them early from the school.
The text to parents read “Moville CC. Lessons will finish at 1.00 pm Thursday due to predicted adverse weather. Buses arranged for this time. School as normal on Friday.”

A spokesperson for the Parents Association of the school confirmed in a Facebook message that the college will close early.

The spokesperson said “We have been informed that this measure has been decided upon to follow department guidelines and to keep students and staff safe while travelling home from school at the time that the strongest winds are forecast.”
